The Run Continues

With my first win on "foreign soil" behind me, I set out on extending my run in the tournament. My next opponent was a thin scronny guy who i thought i could just breeze past. How wrong was I, behind that exterior was a quietly confident person with powerful and consistent ground strokes.

After a quick warm up, we started the match, with my opponent serving first. I quickly won the first game largely thanks to a great number of double faults by my opponent. Then i held my service game to take a 2-0 lead. I was quite annoyed by my opponent in this match as he made alot of bad line calls and kept accusing me of cheating. Anyway, the first set was a tight affair, both of us managed to hold serves quite easily. After about 45 minutes, i was 5-4 up and serving for the set. I comfortably held my serve to take the set.

After losing the first set, cracks started appearing in my opponents game and i took full advantage. I began to play more confidently, placing the ball better and hitting winner after winner. I can safely say that this match is the best match i have ever played in my life.HAHA.
I quickly rapped up the set and the match. I was on my way the semi finals.

The First Hurdle

After a frantic two days of last minute training in preparation for the MBPJ Tennis Open, the big day was finally upon me. I was nervous as usual as I have never won a tennis match outside of Malacca so i was heaping pressure on myself as I wanted to end my days as a junior tennis player on a high.

I was drawn to play Zuilairi Sudiro, the first time I saw him i thought it would be another premature ending to my tournament. He was lean, muscular and athletic and there I was, being myself. After reporting to the tournament desk, we headed to our assigned court to begin our warm up and then the match. During the warm up I got my first glimpse of my opponents game. He had powerful ground strokes and quite a menacing volley on him. I on the other hand seemed so ordinary compared to his strokes.

The match begins, I raced to a 3-0 lead to my surprise. HAHA. Then in the fourth game my opponent made a dubious line call and I lost my cool for a while leading to him winning a few games and at the change of ends although I was still in the lead my confidence was shattered. So with the score at 5-3 in my favor in stepped up to serve for the set. I quickly won the first two points racing to a 30-0 lead before being pegged back to 30 all. Then of anunforced error from my opponent I was handed set point. I served for the set, he returned the serve and moved in on the net, but i was up to the task, I hit a passing shot and won the set to my delight.

In the 2nd set I began really sluggishly slumping to a 0-3 deficit. I then told myself that i had won the 1st set and I had the upper hand. I then began playing my game, hitting those ground strokes so familiar to me in the training ground and before i knew it I was leading 5-3. Obviously deflated, my opponent steeped up to serve to stay in the set, however i comfortably broke his serve to win the match to my delight.

What am I supposed to do ?

With the prospect of losing 20 marks a very large possibility, I have set out on an adventure to create my very own blog. As the title rightly indicates, I am totally clueless on blog writing and what is all about.

To be honest, I thought blogging was a way too rant and complain about anything and everything and also another way to get oneself into jail what with the Raja Petra saga still going on ( at least i think it still is ). By the way please excuse my rather narrow mind when it comes to blogging, but as great people say, learning is a life long journey so i guess this is like another learning process.

Anyway, I guess this first posting marks the beginning of the blogging and internet savvy era of my life. Well, I figure this assignment might just benefit me in the long run, it should be able to open my eyes to the cyber world and broaden my perspective on life with all the thought provoking and mind boggling articles on the net.

This activity should take me out of the nutshell I'm living in so here goes, a new beginning of CLUELESSNESS....
